The course “New Systems Competition’’ deals with competition between countries in various economic dimensions, including government expenditure, environmental regulation, labor standards, quality standards, and banking regulation. Both theoretical and empirical aspects of the problems will be discussed. The book “The New Systems Competition” by Hans-Werner Sinn (2003) will be the core reference for this course.
